The Project

Our client in Bedfordshire required a DIY studio shell garden room kit to create additional space at home.

We supplied a 4m x 3m internal shell kit manufactured using our SIPs panels for the walls, floor and roof. The kit was designed for self-assembly and provided the insulated structure, with the cladding supplied and installed by the client.

The Brief

The client wanted a straightforward SIP shell kit that could be assembled on site and finished independently.

The building needed to include apertures for a door and window, along with the key components required to form the insulated structure. The client then completed the external finish using their own cladding.

The SIPs Kit Supplied

We supplied a DIY Studio Shell Kit with a 4m x 3m internal shell size.

The kit included:

  • SIPs panels for the walls, floor and roof with 100mm insulation
  • Joining splines
  • Floor bearers
  • Door aperture at 2800mm x 1950mm
  • Window aperture at 2000mm x 500mm
  • Deck step frame
  • All fixings and adhesives
  • Assembly instructions

The SIPs panels formed the main insulated structure, giving the client a strong and efficient shell to build from.

Really, really pleased with it

Really pleased with it all and enjoy sitting and taking in the view, glass of wine in hand of course! We did new decking immediately outside of it, in order to open the bi fold doors fully as an extension to the room.  All in all, really, really pleased with it.
